The joint effort has given this scholarship program extensive visibility in the pain research community, which helped generate the excellent submissions we received," said APS President Charles E. Inturrisi, professor of pharmacology, Weill Cornell Medical Center. "We congratulate Drs. Price and Prescott." Elizabeth Christopherson, President and CEO of the Rita Allen Foundation, remarked on the importance of partnering with APS to promote the Scholars in Pain program, “We are pleased to support the work of APS and Drs. Price and Prescott in the field of pain research. As cited on the APS website*, ‘Pain is the most common reason Americans access the health care system (over 75 million Americans suffer from pain, both chronic and acute).’ Our hope is that this research will lead to improved quality of life for those affected by pain. |
